Assistant Showroom Manager

Rialheim, a leading ceramic homeware and décor retailer is searching for an Assistant Showroom Manager to lead our store in Cape Town at 117 on Long Street. If you have experience running a store, are self-motivated, driven, have attention to detail and love interior design, then this could be the job for you. To succeed in this role you need to have a strong sense of responsibility for proactively driving sales, motivating your team and ensuring the store full represents our retail brand in every way.

Your role will include:

  • Meeting and exceeding sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to the store team, Brand Manager and HO.

  • Build extensive product knowledge of key products and product categories available in store and coach the team in this knowledge. Ensure the brand story is always represented and celebrated.

  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and a deep understanding of customer experience for store and Online clients.

  • Day-to-day shop management and operations including managing and recruiting staff, merchandising, stock management, display management, cleanliness, cash management, banking, administration and occasional event co-ordination.

  • Customer relationship management and actively build relationships and seek opportunities to secure, maintain and grow retail sales and business to business opportunities, that includes trade.

  • Ensure that the look and feel of the store promotes a positive customer experience and is in keeping with our brand.

  • Oversee all store related processes (including dispatch of online orders) and continually look at ways to improve them.

  • Have an exemplary and traceable track-record which includes working with premium brands.

  • Have solid experience managing, developing and leading teams in a retail environment.

  • Be able to communicate effectively in English with our customers.

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of digital literacy with competency working in various online platforms. Shopify knowledge advantageous.

  • Strong organisational skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Be led by an internal belief that a good customer experience is paramount to a successful business.

  • Have a real love for homeware, design and interiors.

Showroom Sales Assistant

To succeed in this role you need to have a strong sense of responsibility for proactively driving sales, work well within a team environment & on your own and ensure the store fully represents our retail brand in every way.

Your role will include:

  •   Achieve monthly sales budgets as laid out by the company.

  • Ensure that the store complies with company standards with regards to housekeeping and visual merchandising. Store is clean and well replenished.

  • Ensure that all products are priced correctly and that any price amendments are taken into account, and actioned within 48 hours.

  • Ensure that the stock takes are performed correctly, and processed before month end.

  • Stock loss and breakages budget is 2% of sales. Disciplinary action will be taken for gross negligence should your stock loss be more than 2% over a monthly cycle.

  • Send through the updated target sheet at the end of every working day, should you close the store.

  • Familiarise yourself with product, processes, POS, administrative and brand knowledge to develop your own skills.

  • Ensure that you comply to all operational systems that are implemented into the business and that they are maintained, i.e. signing of daily attendance register.

  • Receive stock into the system within 24 hours of receiving it. Correct processes and administration to be followed when stock is received. Maintain order in the stock room and ensure stock on the floor replenished daily.

  • Build relationships and seek opportunities to secure, maintain and grow retail sales and business to business opportunities. Go the extra mile to turn clients into repeat customers.

  • Follow up on client orders and special orders timeously, and ensure good customer service.

  • Be a brand ambassador. Speak, interact, and dress the part 

  • Capture all sales and perform the cash up every day. All monies short in cash will be paid in by the staff who had access to the till. Cash to be banked daily.
